The yellow rose

I did this cake for an adorable couple that knew just what they wanted. It turned out beautifully. Their colors were gray and yellow, and they wanted pale yellow roses and lisianthis. I have never done lisianthis before, so that was a first. They're a very fun flower. In the photos, the ribbon around the cake looks black, but it is actually gray. That's what you get for using a camera phone.

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time I had a niece that asked me to do her wedding cake. What's an auntie to say to that? It was a beautiful cake, but an even more beautiful wedding. Simple, but elegant; just like my niece.

This cake was for my cousin, Natalie. It was made to look like her dress. She had a gorgeous dress! Her colors were eggplant purple, and apple green. If I had been given a better idea of what the wedding would look like, I would have changed the cupcake colors to green and purple. Still, it was a beautiful cake, and a gorgeous wedding! So happy for her!

Polka Dots

This cake was made really quickly, I had a bit less than a week's notice. Still, I think it turned out really cute.

De Ja Vu....

I don't often get the chance to do a cake twice, but this bride saw the cake from last year, and wanted the same thing. However, it is covered in buttercream instead of fondant. Once again, I forgot my camera, so I used my phone for pictures. The cake table wasn't ready yet, so I assembled it on a nearby table, and they moved it after I left. Hope it was all ok. Such a fun cake to do.

This cake was for the neice of a friend of mine. It was really fun to do, but unfortunately, many colors do not come out correctly in pictures. The bottom layer is bright red, but looks almost orange. The middle layer is fuschia, but also looks orange. This is one reason why I don't have many pictures of cakes I have done. Some of them just never look right. Thought I would post it, anyway.

Cherry Blossom

This is my latest cake. This was a really fun one, and the best part was that I had to deliver it to the singles ward church where I first met my hubby, and also where we had our reception. Miriam thought it was really fun to be there. How often do you get to stand in the spot where your parents first met?
