Turkake!

This year, I didn't have to make a million pies as usual, so for Thanksgiving, I though I would do something a bit more adventurous. Bring on the Turkake!

I had a great time making little fruit and veggies, but I just loved the orange. It even had an orange peel texture. So adorable.

The pumpkins and corn were fun, as well. Best way to eat your veggies, but mom's probably want your veggies to taste more like veggies, and not like marshmallow fondant.
Had to add a picture of the lemon. They turned out great, too. Although, fruit and vegetables aren't usually sparkly, I suppose.
It was a fun cake to do, and I usually don't get to eat my creations. They usually go to someone else. This was a nice change. The pumpkin chocolate chip cake was wonderful. I forget how much I love that one.

Sweet Sixteen!

A while ago I did a cake for the daughter of a friend I used to work with. Her last name has changed, so I didn't know who it was for until she stopped by my house to pay for the cake, but it was so great to see her! She has the cutest family now.

Polka Dots

This cake was made really quickly, I had a bit less than a week's notice. Still, I think it turned out really cute.

De Ja Vu....

I don't often get the chance to do a cake twice, but this bride saw the cake from last year, and wanted the same thing. However, it is covered in buttercream instead of fondant. Once again, I forgot my camera, so I used my phone for pictures. The cake table wasn't ready yet, so I assembled it on a nearby table, and they moved it after I left. Hope it was all ok. Such a fun cake to do.

Spring is in the air.

This was for the birthday of a friend down the street. She wanted a cute cake to make it a bit more special, instead of the traditional sheet cake. It was a blast to do. She loves butterflies, so it was a great opportinity to use them to dress up the cake. One of my favorites, I must say.

Birthday cake for a one year old little guy.

This was a first birthday cake for a little boy. It was requested by a bride because her wedding day was also her nephew's first birthday.
